    • Via Ferrata delle Bocchette Centrali: what an adventure! 🧗‍♀️⛰️

📍 Brenta Dolomites, Italy
🥾 20.71 km | ↗️ 1,519 m | ⏱️ 6h 52m

We started from Vallesinella parking. During peak season, it’s best to book your parking spot at least a day in advance. We went in the off-season and took our chances without a reservation. Luckily, we managed to find a spot!

The via ferrata itself isn’t overly technical, but the exposure is something else! Narrow ledges, vertical ladders, massive rock walls and incredible views all along the way.

There are also some sections without fixed cables, which definitely add to the adventure.

A long day in the mountains, but so worth it! ❤️

📌 Save this for your next Dolomites adventure or share it with someone you’d love to do this with!

    • Apparently, our idea of recovery after the Tour du Mont Blanc was… another mountain adventure 🏔️

We stayed a few extra days in the Dolomites, and honestly, best decision ever!

Via Ferrata delle Bocchette Centrali wasn’t the most technically challenging, but the scenery? Absolutely incredible.

Some mountains just keep calling you back. 🤍

    • Things I wish I knew before hiking the Tour du Mont Blanc 🏔️

8 days, heavy backpacks, a tent, and a very last-minute plan. Here’s what I learned along the way:

1. ⛺ You can’t camp just anywhere. Camping rules vary along the route, so we mostly stayed at campsites, with just one night in a mountain hut.
2. 🍂 September has its pros and cons. Fewer crowds and more last-minute availability, but also campsites and refuges closing for the season. What was still open pretty much shaped our itinerary.
3. 🎒 A heavy backpack changes everything. We completed the TMB in 8 days, carrying all our camping gear. My knees felt every descent, and my trail runners barely survived. Trail runners are great with a lighter pack, but with all that extra weight, I’d seriously consider hiking boots next time.
4. 💧 You don’t need to carry as much as you think. There are places to refill water and grab food along the way. Just check what’s available each day, especially in September.
5. 🏔️ The harder routes are often worth it. We chose the higher, more challenging variants whenever possible, and they rewarded us with some of the best views of the entire trek.
6. 🌦️ Mountain weather can change in minutes. Sunshine, rain, wind, even snow. Pack for all of it and stay flexible.
7. ❤️ There’s no one right way to do the TMB. 8 days or 11, camping or huts, easier trails or challenging variants. It all depends on the kind of adventure you’re looking for.

Would I do it again? Absolutely.

Maybe with a lighter backpack, sturdier shoes, and a little more planning. But figuring things out along the way was part of the adventure.

💬 What do you wish you’d known before your first long-distance hike?

Things I wish I knew before hiking the Tour du Mont Blanc 🏔️

8 days, heavy backpacks, a tent, and a very last-minute plan. Here’s what I learned along the way:

1. ⛺ You can’t camp just anywhere. Camping rules vary along the route, so we mostly stayed at campsites, with just one night in a mountain hut.
2. 🍂 September has its pros and cons. Fewer crowds and more last-minute availability, but also campsites and refuges closing for the season. What was still open pretty much shaped our itinerary.

    • If I could choose how to end the Tour du Mont Blanc, this would be it. 🏔️

Lac Blanc to Le Brévent was hands down my favorite part of the entire TMB. Those views! 🤍

We covered 32.6 km with 2,600m of elevation change in one day. Intense, but worth every step.

My advice? Take two days if you can, and don’t skip Le Brévent! Many hikers take the cable car down to Chamonix, but I’d definitely recommend continuing on foot. The descent is long and tough, but the views make up for it.

We started TMB in Courmayeur, but if I did it again, I’d start in Les Houches and save this section for last.

Some views are worth slowing down for.

    • Tour du Mont Blanc, the unplanned version.

Decided a few days before, started from Courmayeur and walked the loop in 8 days.

It was late September, most refuges were closing, so we carried a tent and planned each day around what was still open.

Around 16 kg on my back, including my camera gear and everything we needed for eight days on the trail.

Not much planning. A lot of walking. And one of those trips I’m still thinking about.

More from the trail soon.

    • A spontaneous decision turned into 8 days walking around Mont Blanc 🏔️

Starting in Courmayeur, crossing three countries with one backpack and a tent, camping along the way and figuring things out as we went.

Long days, a lot of climbing, surprisingly good weather and views that somehow just kept getting better.

Would you walk it?

We started climbing in the dark, making our way through the snow and around the crevasses, with not much of an idea of what was around us. Then the sun came up… and well, the views were pretty hard to beat.

    • Some places don’t just take you off the map.
They make you forget you ever needed one.

8 days deep in the Peruvian Andes. No signal, no shortcuts, nowhere else to be. 🏔️

Would you disappear here?
