    • Imagine calling this home for the night. 🏔️⛺️

Wild valleys, turquoise lakes, glaciers overhead and a different view waiting outside the tent every morning.

The Huayhuash Circuit might have some of the most unreal campsites in the Andes.

Which one would you choose? 👀

So, basically, Huayhuash. 🏔️🇵🇪

    • Eight days of wondering how any of this was real.

No signal. No roads. Just glacier lakes, impossible mountains, freezing nights and the kind of silence you don’t get to hear very often.

They make you forget you ever needed one.

    • Ancient ingenuity, written into the landscape. 🌀🧂

A day through Peru’s Sacred Valley, from the circular terraces of Moray (believed to have been an Inca agricultural laboratory) to the incredible salt pools of Maras, carved into the mountainside and still harvested today.

We ended the day after dark in Ollantaytambo, ready for the next chapter: the train to Machu Picchu. 🚂⛰️

If you’re looking for a private ride around the Sacred Valley (or beyond), I can happily recommend @luisafredo.quispevelasques, a great driver and genuinely lovely company along the way. Feel free to contact him directly. 🤍🇵🇪

    • The colors of the Andes 🧶🌈

One of my favorite experiences in the Sacred Valley was visiting the traditional textile workshop Ñawi Awapa in Chinchero.

Here, we got a glimpse into the knowledge behind Andean textiles, from recognizing alpaca fibers to discovering how plants and roots are transformed into natural dyes. We also learned about cochineal: tiny insects found on cactus plants that, once crushed, produce the most incredible crimson red. ❤️

Nearby, we came across locals preparing chuño, an ancient Andean method of preserving potatoes using the freezing mountain nights and the strong daytime sun. Such a simple scene, yet part of everyday life in the Andes for generations.

Between vibrant textiles, traditional clothing, centuries-old techniques and glimpses of local life, Chinchero felt like much more than just another stop in the Sacred Valley.

A place where color, tradition and everyday life are still deeply intertwined.

    • A taste of the Sacred Valley 🌽🥖⛰️

Our journey through Peru’s Sacred Valley started in Pisac, where the morning was all about colors, flavors and incredible mountain views.

We wandered through the local market, discovering fruits we had never tried before, different varieties of corn and quinoa, and of course, stopping for freshly baked bread, because apparently I can’t walk past a bakery, even at 3,000 meters. 😄

Then we left the market behind and headed higher into the mountains to explore the archaeological site of Pisac and Q’allaqasa. Ancient stonework, terraces carved into impossibly steep slopes, and the Sacred Valley stretching out far below us.

It was the perfect introduction to this part of Peru, a place where food, landscape, history and everyday life seem to be inseparable.

And this was only our first stop… 🇵🇪

Then we left the market behind and headed higher into the mountains to explore the archaeological site of Pisac and Q’allaqasa. Ancient stonework, terraces carved into impossibly steep slopes, and the Sacred Valley stretching out far below us.

It was the perfect introduction to this part of Peru, a place where food, landscape, history and everyday life seem to be inseparable.

And this was only our first stop… 🇵🇪

📍 Pisac, Sacred Valley, Peru
A taste of the Sacred Valley 🌽🥖⛰️

Our journey through Peru’s Sacred Valley started in Pisac, where the morning was all about colors, flavors and incredible mountain views.

We wandered through the local market, discovering fruits we had never tried before, different varieties of corn and quinoa, and of course, stopping for freshly baked bread, because apparently I can’t walk past a bakery, even at 3,000 meters. 😄

    • Rainbow Mountain is definitely touristy, and I knew that before going. But standing there, surrounded by the Andes, it still felt worth it. What surprised me the most, though, was Red Valley. That was the place that truly stayed with me.

    • There’s something about Cusco that’s hard to explain.
It’s busy, a little chaotic, full of history, and somehow it all fits together. I’m glad I took the time to wander instead of rushing through it.

    • A day in Scarița Belioara.

No big plans, no rush, just following the trail, stopping whenever the view felt worth remembering.

It’s one of those places where every turn looks different. Old wooden houses, steep limestone cliffs, quiet forests, and endless views over the Apuseni Mountains.

Sometimes the best part of a hike isn’t reaching the top. It’s everything you notice along the way.
